DUBAI:A 62-year-old Indian, who was on board the Emirates plane that crash-landed here, might be the luckiest man alive as he has won a million dollars in lottery, just six days after miraculously surviving the accident.
Mohammad Basheer Abdul Khadar, from Kerala, was among the 300 people on board the Emirates flight EK521 which crash landed and burst into flames at the Dubai airport last Wednesday
The Dubai expatriate struck gold yesterday when his lucky ticket number 0845 was drawn in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire at Concourse A at Dubai International Airport, winning him USD 1 million (Dirham 3.67 million), Gulf News reported.
Khadar had purchased the ticket on Eid on his way for a vacation with his family in Thiruvananthapuram.
A fleet administrator with a car dealer group in Dubai, Khadar had made it a habit to purchase a raffle ticket whenever he traveled to his home country.
Khadar became a millionaire after purchasing his 17th ticket, just four months before he was due to retire in December, he told the daily.
"I have been working in Dubai for 37 years, and I have always felt like this is my country. I live a simple life, and now that it's my time to retire, I feel like God gave me a second life when I survived the plane crash, and blessed me with this money to follow all this up by doing good things," Khadar said.

A new service introduced by android that is Emergency Location Service.
This service locates exact location of the caller who attempt an emergency call.
Its very tough to locate exact location of the mobile caller from mobile networks,like it first locate signal towers but its never locate exact location of the caller because it finds signal tower (but it can have a radius of upto several kilometers ). Gps also fails in indoors.
To address this issue android started this service.
It will locate exact location of mobile caller's when they use emergency services. This is supported by over 99% of existing Android devices (version 2.3 out and upwards) through Google Play Services. The service activates when supported by your mobile network operator or emergency infrastructure provider.
This service is already live today for people with Android phones in the UK and in Estonia. Hope this expand internationally soon.
