In Ranga puram nizam govt started lab in the year 1974 to study solar and lunar eclipses in astronomy 

The Nizamiah Observatory became the only observatory in the world to have actually undertaken the task of mapping and cataloging both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

This is the 2nd largest telescope of size 48 inches is established in the year 1974 at Rangapur in Hyderabad Telangana.

This Rangapur Observatory was maintained by Osmania University. The Village Rangapur is also called as ‘Chukkapurpatnam’.

Now two telescopes are not working Telagana govt should come and repair the telescopes.

One telescope is made in 1908 with Landon technology.
Up to now 2 lakhs of Stars are researched here.
But now, no scientists and no research.
